Are you keen to have the opportunity to contribute to the future of the teaching profession in collaboration with the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL)?

ACEL is a community of educators on a mission to connect, support, and inspire current and future leaders in education across Australia and beyond.

We want to highlight diverse millennial voices from across all parts of the country – early career teachers and leaders from all sectors and varying roles representative of a range of educational settings.

Our vision here at ACEL is to create a dynamic and collaborative learning community, where educators come together to share ideas and work towards our commitment to improve the quality of learning for all. Our uniqueness is our connectedness with all in the education community, who represent the breadth, depth and diversity of the sector. As Australia’s premier cross-sector professional association with a focus on leading and leadership at our core, we contribute to and draw from national and global research, practice and learning opportunities.

As part of our upcoming ACEL National Conference being held in Brisbane from 27–29 September, we warmly invite you to express interest in being part of the conversation. We value the incredible work that you are doing now and are keen to find avenues for you to contribute to our future as a profession. This year’s conference has particular significance as we celebrate our 50th anniversary with the theme Learning from the past, leading for the future.

Not only will you have the opportunity to lead for the future by sharing your expertise and thinking, we are also delighted to offer complimentary conference registration to selected Next Gen participants.

If selected, you will participate in a series of activities and roundtable sessions with our ACEL President Briony Scott, your colleagues and other members of our team on Day 1 of the conference, provide ongoing input across all 3 days and contribute to a call to action on Day 3.

Please nominate to be a vital part of ACEL’s future as we contribute and empower the voice of the profession by responding to these questions:

  1. What achievement are you most proud of in your current role and why?
  2. What do you see as the 3 biggest challenges facing educators today and why?
  3. What is one thing we can do now to make the change you want to see? How would you like to contribute to this?
  4. What are you most excited about when you look at the ACEL conference line-up?

We will also ask you to share some demographic information and 2 referees to support us in selecting a diverse group of Next Gen participants.

No more than 500 words required! Please share your responses here by 5pm on Monday 31 July. We will notify you of the outcome by mid-August so that if required you have plenty of time to organise your own arrange your travel and accommodation arrangements.

We look forward to hearing from you.
