Welcome to the latest edition of the Australian Educational Leader (AEL) for 2024. We are delighted to present 'Leading effective teams'. With lead article written by Professor Andy Hargreaves and Cameron Jones. Our AEL Spotlight interview is with Professor Mark Scott AO. The purpose of the ACEL NextGen initiative is to connect with and give voice to early career educators from across sectors and systems in Australia. We warmly invite you to express interest in being part of the conference. Dr. Tim Lewis has been involved in special education for 35 years.  He has taught students with emotional and behavioral disorders in high school, elementary, and self-contained psychiatric settings.  At present, Dr. Lewis is a Curators’ Distinguished Professor of Special Education at the University of Missouri. He is also past Co-Editor of the journal Behavioral Disorders, Associate Editor of the Journal of Positive Behavioral Interventions, and a member of 13 editorial boards.

The Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) eighth national inclusion and disability conference is proudly presented in collaboration with the Northern Territory Department of Education in Darwin, 30-31 May 2024.
