ACEL QLD recently held their Annual Branch Awards Ceremony at Wavell State High School, where they recognised a number of educational leaders in a range of categories. We celebrate all of the winners this year and invite you to view the photos from the night below.

This years conference will feature a range of concurrent sessions, with experts in education from Australia and beyond. These insightful and engaging sessions, are only one of the many highlights to look forward to.

We are pleased to announce the awardees for our 2023 National Awards. These awards honours educational leaders who have dedicated themselves to the improvement of student and educational outcomes. It is also with great pride that ACEL congratulates the recipients of the 2023 New Voice Scholarships which recognise forward thinking, contextually relevant and responsive educational leaders whose work has had an impact above and beyond their immediate context.

A highlight of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders Western Australia Branch is the annual celebration and presentation of awards. ACEL WA honours those educational leaders who in the view of their peers have made a significant contribution to the understanding and practice of educational leadership.

The Autumn/Winter electronic edition (Volume 29 Number 1) of the Leading and Managing (L&M) journal for 2023 is now available. L&M continues to maintain a balance of practice and theory directed towards the complementary phases of leading and managing in educational administration.

The ACEL VIC branch is excited to be hosting the Patron’s Oration on 19 July, with Co-Orators - Dr Brian Caldwell and Dr Frank Crowther. The theme for this session marks a big milestone as it ‘Celebrates 50 years of ACEL’. FREE for ACEL members!

This year’s International Women’s Day 2023 (IWD 2023) theme is #EmbraceEquity, one which resonates deeply across the globe. The theme underpins our IWD online event which aims to inspire participants to reflect individually and collectively on the role we play in embracing equity, celebrating diversity, and empowering all genders in our learning organisations and social contexts to create a more inclusive society.

‘Virtuous Educational Leadership: Doing the Right Work the Right Way’ is an online webinar that is is based on Viviane’s latest book “Virtuous Educational Leadership: Doing the Right Work the Right Way". In this webinar participants will not only understand the nature and importance of virtues but have a clear sense of how to build more virtuous leadership in themselves and their teams.

Our conference theme this year is Together we build, grow and succeed. This is an important opportunity for educators, students, educational leaders, researchers and policy makers to come together to share, to learn and to shape an equitable and inclusive future for all young people in our care.

‘Leading and Coaching a Culture of Thing’ is 2-day workshop is aimed at laying the groundwork for this type of development shift by exploring ways participants might build on and extend the professional learning culture that currently exists at their schools. We will examine tools, frameworks, protocols, and practices that the Worldwide Cultures of Thinking Project has developed to support the development of cultures of thinking at the school-wide level.
