ACEL QLD: Pivotal People 2024 - Brisbane (March)

When:  Mar 6, 2024 from 17:00 to 18:30 (ET)

Middle Leaders as Provocateurs & Critical Friends

Middle leaders hold complex roles in schools. They lead teams of teachers, teach classes, and also exist as a conduit to senior leadership. Often, middle leaders find themselves leaning on their middle leader peers for mentoring, professional and sometimes emotional support. They also look to their peers to challenge and provoke their thinking when difficult situations in management or leadership arise. The value of a trusted provocateur or critical friend can be important for middle leader growth, as these leaders learn to navigate their roles on the job and over time. Joining the Brisbane Pivotal People network to share their experience, perspective, and ideas about Middle Leaders as provocateurs are Dominic Piacun, Head of Secondary Years at St Peters Lutheran College Springfield, and Joanna Gardiner, Head of English at Somerville House. Join us for an afternoon of intellectually stimulating conversation and networking.
