Dear ACEL SA Members,
Greetings from the ACEL SA team. I was at a conference last week and I heard a leader describe the school year as four 100 metre sprints. It’s a hard to believe we a halfway through the first sprint!
Our recent ACEL SA Professionals Network Event and National Conference Launch, held at the Unley Oval Community Hub on Thursday, February 22, saw a fantastic turnout from both our members and non-members with all sectors represented. Featuring an outstanding panel, including Glenn Savage, Pasi Sahlberg, Anne Dunstan, and Dr. Barbara Watterston, the event delved into the theme of 'Reimagining Education,' with an emphasis on reimagining the teaching profession. Barbara skilfully led the dialogue, sparking insightful takeaways, reflections, and questions from our panellists. Anne Dunstan raised the importance of how we nurture the next generation of leaders and educators, a challenge to which I believe ACEL SA has a crucial role to play.

We're thrilled to announce that the ACEL National Conference, scheduled from September 30 to October 2, 2024 will be held in Adelaide. The conference theme is "Reimagining Education: A Future Beyond Boundaries," with an exploration into reimagining schools, educational leadership, the profession, and envisioning our future.

These accolades honour individuals who have made substantial contributions to education, leadership, and the advancement of student learning outcomes, teacher professionalism, and effectiveness.
All members of ACEL are eligible to act as a nominator for an ACEL SA Fellowship or other leadership award. Nominations cannot be accepted from organisations or non-members of ACEL.
