As we begin Term 2 across schools in Australia, I’m excited to share a new resource to support your leadership practice—our Teamwork Toolkit. So much of our work through ACELearn focuses on leadership teams: building culture, strengthening collaboration, and designing real teams—not teams in name only. Grounded in the Harvard Six Conditions of Team Effectiveness, this toolkit is designed to prompt reflection, sharpen practice and support the important work of leading together. I hope it offers something valuable for you and your teams as the term unfolds.
We are also continuing to invest in leadership at every stage. Our reimagined NextGen program will bring together a cohort of early career educators from across Australia—creating space to connect, learn about leadership and play a pivotal role at our National Conference. Applications will be opening soon, with the opportunity to either self-nominate or nominate a colleague you believe would benefit from this experience. It’s an exciting initiative and one we are proud to be building.
In addition, Career Catalyst launches next week for members—a thoughtfully curated suite of resources designed to support your career journey, including mindset development, practical tools and reflective activities to help you navigate your next steps with clarity and confidence. Developed by our Community Engagement Lead and coach, Peta Barker, it’s a resource we hope many of you will return to throughout your leadership journey. And of course, our National Inclusion and Disability Conference (25–26 May) is fast approaching. I am incredibly proud of this program and what it offers educators—practical, relevant and focused on real application. It promises to be a powerful two days of learning and connection.
