ACEL QLD: Pivotal People 2024 - Brisbane & Gold Coast (OCT)

When:  Oct 9, 2024 from 17:00 to 18:30 (ET)

ACEL QLD Pivotal People: Brisbane & Gold Coast - Communicating with influence: How to sell your ideas as a middle leader

Within schools, middle leaders offer a uniquely valuable perspective: their simultaneous engagement in teaching and leading enables them to appreciate the factors and assumptions that underpin any given problem and to understand the realities and complexities of implementing various solutions. Drawing from their hands-on experience and dual engagement, middle leaders often develop innovative and impactful ideas tailored to their school contexts. Their involvement in decision-making processes allows them to shape school culture, policies, and programs. To lead this change effectively, middle leaders influence upward, sideways, and downward. They craft messages that persuade, motivate and inspire others to consider alternative viewpoints and to act. At our next hybrid Brisbane and Gold Coast Pivotal People event, Brisbane Grammar School’s Director of STEAM Education, Tanya Nielsen, joins us to provoke intellectually stimulating conversation on the art of communicating with influence.
